Hmmm, I'll have to go borrow my father-in-law's copy again and see what the copyright notice says on the film itself. Thanks!

wow! looks like you are onto something. I found 2 different titles one with no notice and one with a 1942 notice. that is 2 years early

that is a nice find Rachel

Really? Wow! That is amazing. Thank you! I'm going to borrow one from Pop anyway and I'll post back what the date says.

Is that first shot you sent from the film or the trailer? I just took at look at our DVD, which was put out by Turner Broadcasting in 2000 (I think), and it had the correct copyright date on it. What does that mean? Why would yours have a different date on it than mine? Now I'm confused.

well...I stand corrected!!! you are right, the notice on the film is attached and correct, so it is NOT pd. Looks like the trailer is :)

That doesn't look like a valid notice to me. It's missing the copyright symbol (© or (c)).

A copyright notice must contain the word copyright, the copyright symbol, the year and the owner or author of the work. Without the symbol it's not a valid copyright notice.

I think it needs EITHER the symbol OR the word Copyright.
